Job fairs are excellent places to learn, network and find a job. With over 2,500 job seekers attending the Mega Job Fair each year it is important to prepare in advance.

Often times a job fair is thought to be a more casual event. Do not overlook the fact that this could be your one and only interview with a hiring employer; dress, body language, and manners still count. 

Below are a few more tips for job fair success.

1. Update and prepare multiple copies of your resume and cover letter for distribution.
2. Arrange alternative childcare.
3. Prepare a 30-second “elevator speech” to market yourself to recruiters.
4. Research the employers that are attending prior to the event
5. Network with job seekers, exhibitors, and workshop providers.
